Soft water resin reduces water hardness through ion exchange principle. The resin contains a large amount of sodium ions or hydrogen ions inside. When hard water (containing high concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions) flows through the resin, the resin actively adsorbs calcium and magnesium ions in the water, while releasing its own carried sodium or hydrogen ions into the water. Thus achieving a reduction in water hardness and pH value, especially suitable for specific ornamental fish and aquatic plants that are sensitive to water quality.
